Green Tourism and Environmental Awareness
We were very pleased to be awarded Silver Standard in the Green Tourism Business Scheme 2004, and aim to provide a high quality of service while impacting as little as possible on our beautiful countryside. Much of our environmental policy is simple good management and done behind the scenes, for example recycling, energy efficiency, water saving measures and so on. Sunrise over the Clyde

Many environmental measures enhance the quality of guestęs visits, for example we use many organic ingredients on our menus when available, and buy as much local produce for food preparation. In the bedrooms we do not automatically change towels daily to save on energy, and encourage the use of the WC short flush button whenever practical again to save on water. We also encourage guests to 'Give the car a break', and have timetables for public transport to places of interest in the area. We also have books on the wild flora and fauna of Argyll, and plenty of ideas and suggestions for lovely walks in the area. Many are circular and enable you to see the beautiful countryside at your leisure.

Green Tourism - Silver Guests are also encouraged to enjoy the grounds of the hotel, and we have tried to encourage wild birds to our garden through nesting boxes and a feed table. Deer are frequent visitors, however midges do not feature in our wildlife welcome approach!
